Motion is captured to determine how much response there is or how much excitement viewers will feel when viewing the image, and how fast or in what direction the subject appears to be moving.
This is a picture a running fountain. With the proper camera setting, I managed to catch a complete freeze frame despite of the motion of the running water coming out of the fountain.
